Oma Thia's Kitchen is located in Kerobokan and opened in 2010. The whitewashed furniture, comfortable cushions, framed photographs and mirrors create a homely feel, and there are wonderful views over the rice fields.
Delectable homestyle menus are created here in the kitchen of Oma Thia, with Asian and Western inspired soups, salad, pasta, entrees, and desserts. Only the freshest and healthiest ingredients are used, ensuring many repeat guests. Not only a restaurant, Oma Thia's Kitchen is also available for catering and provides on-call chefs for private functions. The catering team will listen to requests, then inspect, observe, and propose the best options to match the client's needs. They are particularly proud of their finger food catering, fresh and practical canapés served from banana leaves plates.
Opening from breakfast to dinner, Oma Thia's Kitchen has a breakfast menu that is available until 12pm and a separate lunch / dinner menu. We try the Pumpkin Soup which is made of whole pumpkin puree and has a warm and creamy taste. The Caesar Salad is made memorable with the crispiest of bacon and a tasty homemade sauce. The Creamy Mushroom Fettuccini is made from fresh fettuccini served al dente with a cream chicken and mushroom sauce, grated parmesan and toasted bread on the side. One of the most popular items on the menu is Baked Chicken, which has been floured, then baked and served with a potato cake, sautéed mushrooms and beans and some watercress salad and cherry tomatoes.
Homemade desserts could well be Oma Thia's middle name, and the display cabinet offers some of her signature creations. The Apple Pie is made of thick layers of caramelised apple, cinnamon, raisin, strawberry sauce and vanilla ice cream that leaves you with that sweet surrender feeling. One last point to note is the healthy drink list. The Carrot, Orange, Ginger is very refreshing, and some say the brightness of this drink provides colour therapy, making you happy physically and psychologically. Simple and healthy, are the two key words in Oma Thia's menu. \MA
