In our August edition, we discussed some common faux pas in wine service and suggested rules for the sommelier and wine waiter to follow to guide guests in their enjoyment of wine. This issue, we'll be discussing some rules for the guest in order to enjoy their wine and dining experience. The guest who has requested to decant the wine,
should pay attention not to drink the sediment left in the bottle; the guest should consider ordering ice cubes to cool the wine; the guest is advised not to reveal his/her price range when they ask the waiter to recommend a wine; the guest should order the white wine for the starter, and red wine in advance of the main course hence the waiter can open and prepare the glasses in advance. The last rule to follow as a guest – you should tell the waiter immediately if you feel the wine doesn't have the right temperature, so the waiter can cool or warm it on the spot. These rules that I have just mentioned are not mandatory, but they have been created by experts to help you the guest enjoy the unforgettable wine dining experience.
